LED Bay Light

The BRO Series: LED High Bay That Puts Light Where the Work Happens

Most warehouse and industrial projects come down to a few straightforward decisions — how high is the ceiling, what lux level does the space need, and does the application have any specific glare requirements. This guide walks through those decisions to help specifiers, builders, project managers and electricians get the BRO Series specification right.

Built for the Demands of Industrial Environments

The BRO Series is a LED high bay built for warehouse and industrial work. Workshops, logistics facilities, manufacturing floors, loading bays and everything in between. Three wattages from 100W to 200W cover the mounting heights that come up most often on site. Four lens options and five reflector configurations mean the optical output can be matched to the application before installation begins, whether that is a wide open floor or a narrow racking aisle.

It handles the straightforward job as well as the detailed one.

The housing is die cast aluminium, designed to manage heat efficiently and draw thermal load away from the LED source. In large installations where accessing fittings at height carries a real cost, a fitting that holds its performance over time is worth specifying correctly from the start.

Controlled Light Distribution: Lenses & Reflectors

Select the lens for primary beam control, then add a reflector where the mounting height or layout calls for an extra layer of precision

For Wide Open Areas

The 120 deg clear lens is the standard choice for open warehouse floors where broad, even coverage is the priority. Where visual comfort is part of the brief, such as showrooms, reception areas or commercial spaces sitting alongside the warehouse, the 120 deg opal glass lens delivers the same wide distribution with a softer, more diffused output.

For Racking Aisles and Loading Bays

A 60 or 90 deg PC lens tightens the beam and pushes light downward where it is needed most. Pairing either lens with a 60 or 90 deg aluminium reflector adds a further layer of beam control for taller mounting heights or narrow aisle configurations.

For Workshops and Active Work Areas

Where UGR below 19 is a compliance or comfort requirement, specify a 60 or 90 deg deep beam configuration. The 75 or 90 deg acrylic prismatic reflector combines beam control with a softer light quality, the right choice for task areas where operators are working at eye level for extended periods.

Recommended Mounting & Layout Guidelines

Choosing the right wattage and beam angle depends entirely on your mounting height and the specific use of the floor space. Below are our general recommendations for achieving a standard industrial lux level (approx. 300–400 lux) using the BRO Series.

4m to 7m: Low Bay Applications

For lower ceilings in workshops, small warehouses, or retail spaces, the BRO 100W is the primary choice. At a 5m mounting height, the BRO 100W delivers approximately 360 lux on the floor when placed on a 6m x 6m grid.

6m to 10m: Standard Warehouse

This is the sweet spot for the BRO 150W. At this height, beam control becomes more important to maintain floor brightness. At a 7m height, the BRO 150W provides solid coverage on a 6m grid, effectively replacing old 400W Metal Halides.

8m to 12m and above: Large Warehouse and High Clearance

For tall racking and high-clearance sheds, the BRO 200W provides the punch needed to reach the floor. Using a 60° beam allows for higher mounting without losing the intensity needed for safe forklift operation and picking.

Dimming Compatibility

Lighting control is becoming a standard part of commercial warehouse and industrial project briefs, whether that is occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, or zone based dimming tied to a building management system.

The BRO Series supports both DALI and 0-10V protocols to suit whichever control system the project requires. DALI is the more common choice for larger or more complex installations where individual fixture addressing and centrcentralised control are part of the brief. 0-10V suits simpler dimming setups where analogue control is sufficient.
